Requirements
Minimum educational qualification:

  • Senior Certificate (or equivalent) with Mathematics and/or Accountancy as a passed subject and/or Senior Certificate (or equivalent) with experience/competencies that focuses on the Key Performance Areas (KRA’s) of the post.

Experience:

  • Appropriate experience in Supply Chain Management (the procurement and provisioning of goods and services) or appropriate experience in Finance Administration.
  • Experience of using the Integrated Procurement System (IPS) quotation tool.

Competencies (knowledge/skills):

  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape.
  • Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel and Outlook).
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain Regulations.
  • Knowledge of the SYSPRO Material Management system or LOGIS (Logistical Information System) would be advantageous.

Duties (key result areas/outputs)

  • Obtain quotations for equipment or consumable items via the lPS procurement system.
  • Place orders at companies using the SYSPRO system.
  • Complete entries on all kinds of procurement documents, registers and equipment purchasing schedules. Assist with the Bid advertising /closing procedures/documents on file.
  • Perform other tasks as provided by the supervisor of Supply Chain Management.
  • Handle telephonic and written enquiries from suppliers (companies) and user departments.
