MAIN PURPOSE:

To direct and manage the overall business risk framework in a manner consistent with the Risk Management framework and policies in order to prevent and minimise business risk exposure.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure at enterprise level that the frameworks, policies and standards are rolled out across the business and in line with the business ERMF and procedures and aligned to that of our key stakeholder.
  • Maintain a risk management and support approach to the ERMF that is fit for purpose to the business as well as aligned with the overall direction and strategy internally and externally.
  • Monitor effective implementation and execution of the ERMF, including reporting to stakeholders internally and externally on, but not limited to, risk assessments, risk indicators and loss events
  • Support the effectiveness of risk assessment and reporting process across the business by providing specialist advice and support to the various business areas, including making recommendations for improvements on all matters pertaining to the ERMF
  • Develop and maintain relations with external and internal stakeholders
  • Ensure effective co-ordination and execution of risk activities within all areas of the business with the view of minimizing potential risk.
  • Participates in planned activities that are appropriate for own and staff development
  • Communicate progress risks, issues and dependencies on a monthly basis and any serious deviations of the plan to Head: Risk and Compliance

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:

  • Minimum 3 year relevant commercial degree
  • Risk/Auditing/BCom degree or other relevant risk qualification would be preferred

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Minimum 3 – 5 years’ relevant risk management experience in a Financial Services/banking/accounting/insurance environment
  • Minimum 3 – 5 years management experience would be preferred
  • Strong and proven ERFM experience
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.)

Accountant

We are urgently looking for an Accountant to start in Cape Town. Your mission is to manage the finances and general administration at the branch according to company norms and values in an efficient and effective manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing of general financial activities.
  • Managing of the debtors function.
  • Managing of the creditors function.
  • The administering of HR administrative functions i.e. leave, performance appraisals, salary/wage administrative inputs.
  • The building and maintaining of healthy business relations.
  • Follow up on any late payments when requested by the debtors’ clerk.
  • Follow up on short payments, determine the reason and rectify.
  • Balance books to balance sheet including all reconciliation’s, journals and reports
  • Payment of all creditors (sundry and suppliers) by means of electronic funds transfers (EFT).
  • Execute bank reconciliation’s.
  • Transfer applicable amounts for all imported products sold.
  • Pay local suppliers according to the agreed upon terms and conditions.
  • Filing of all financial documents
  • Archiving of all financial documents when required.
  • Calculate and pay VAT before the target date to the Receiver of Revenue.
  • Calculate and pay all statutory monies before the target date to the Receiver of Revenue.
  • Compile a schedule of all month end sales (e.g. rent, transport, electricity usage etc.) and reconcile sales to month end age analysis and produce a sales report.
  • Generate invoices for transport usage.
  • Complete the journals.
  • Pay all creditors and reconcile.
  • Reconcile all debtors and creditors.
  • Provide HR administrative support to staff as directed by the HR Manager at Head Office.
  • Administer salary and wage inputs required by Head Office for payroll purposes.

Requirements:

  • Degree/Diploma in Accounting
  • 3 – 5 years relevant experience
  • Gr 12 with Maths and Accounting
  • Computer skills especially MS Excel. Experience in computerised accounting packages will be useful.
  • Experience in the FMCG or Logistics industry would be an advantage
