Competencies (knowledge/skills):

  • Ability to function independently, as well as in a multi-disciplinary team (including the NPO sector).
  • Understand the knowledge of the Core package of services for PHC/DHS and Health Care 2030.
  • Excellent report-writing skills.
  • Experience with statistical data and financial management.
  • Project management skills.
  • Good communication skills in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape.
  • Computer literacy, MS Office suite (MS Word, Excel, Power-point and Outlook).

Duties (key result areas/outputs):

  • Facilitate, co-ordinate and manage facility based services and programmes within the Southern/Western Sub-structure Health District.
  • Monitor and evaluate program objectives, goals, indicators and targets.
  • Provide optimal support to the Director and Deputy Director: Comprehensive Health, as well as  the District Hospital, PHC and CBS service platforms.
  • Manage the human and physical resources and control financial expenditure.
  • Coordinate nurse training in the Sub-structure and be involved in training programmes in conjunction with Human Resource Development and Training division, including liaison with relevant role players.
